I am a Pediatrician  and  a Public Health Researcher by profession. Apart from my professional contribution as  Professor of Pediatrics at Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi  and as Research Professor in International Health at Boston University School of Public Health, I have also served World Health Organization in India and Philippines.

I have been writing  Urdu short stories   for a  long time. A compilation of my short stories in Urdu  titled ‘Kuch lamhey kuch saayey’ was awarded by Delhi Urdu Academy in 2005. During last 20 years  I have published around 75 short stories in English, in print and online journals encompassing a wide spectrum of social issues and events which often jiggle a creative mind. I regularly contribute to Muse India and  Contemporary  Literature  Review  of India.
